How to make home homemade dog bed?

Making your own dog bed is a simple way to make your own dog’s bed comfortable for them. Dog beds are available in countless styles, sizes, and colors, but they are not all made alike. Cheaper styles do not often come with washing instructions, and after washing they end up taking on the shape of a lumpy pillow. Dog beds should be washable, or at least the covers should be washable. After all, dogs go outside on a daily basis, and they do not stay clean. Here are some ideas on making your homemade dog bed.

Pillows come in all price ranges, and they are generally far thicker and more comfortable than the filling in an average dog bed. Instead of buying a dog bed, choose two ordinary old or used pillows of the same size. Two pillows of any size can be placed inside a homemade fleece cover that is completely washable. The old pillows can be hand sews together lengthwise if desired, or they can be placed inside the homemade washable pillowcase separately. Not considering the price of the homemade fleece cover, a homemade dog bed can cost as little as ten dollars.

Another one is making dog out of old pillow sham, rags, cloth and pillows. Collect and or prepare a pillow sham, rags, cloth, pillows and anything that can be put on inside the sham. You can buy a new pillow sham, cloth or pillows but I suggest using the old one you have or buy it from garage sales so that you can save money. Stuff the sham with the clean rags, old clothes, pillows or even plastic grocery bags.  Make sure that the dog bed you will make is lightly stuffed. Some pets do not like to snuggle in on an over-stuffed bed. This is another great thing about homemade pet beds. You can stuff it to fit the comfort of your pet. Lastly, wash the pet bed. This is the easiest part. Most of the time your pet beds just end up all “hairy” but not really dirty, so with a Pillow Sham pet bed, all you do to clean is wash it.

You can also use an old quilt or sleeping bag and foam pad or pieces of foam by    placing the foam in the used or old quilt bag or sleeping bag. Sew along the marked seams by hand or machine. You can add a zipper or Velcro for a fancier finish.

So, why buy a dog bed when old materials can be used to create a homemade dog bed that costs far less?
